Two Projects
I thought I’d talk you about two projects I’ve been working on for the past couple of weeeks. They were completely spontaneous and sudden but I’m equally excited about both! I’ve already mentioned them shortly on Twitter and maybe you’ve seen something pop up on Facebook but not all of you have a FB or Twitter account so…
First: We Promised. We Promised is a zine my friend Kasper-Jan and I decided to create at the start of December. He told me he had this crazy idea to make a little magazine that talked about the bands we tip for 2011. I’ve always wanted to make a zine so I agreed to do this. And it’s all gone very fast ever since. We wrote the pieces to go into the zine, asked for sponsoring, did a couple of interviews, contacted printers©centers and eventually put it all together 2 weeks ago.
Hermine designed the cover and is responsible for the entire lay-out actually.

It should be ready on Friday and we are both super excited to finally see it in print. This is how it sounds more officially:
“We Promised breaks with tradition. In our musiczine we focus on the most interesting foreign bands of the moment. The ones that don’t get enough attention in Belgian media; bands who often don’t make it to the end of year lists but still produce music of high quality. With a fresh outlook on the music scene We Promised goes for the bands it believes in, not necessarily for the hyped ones.”
Secondly, I’m co-organising a party called Dance Dance Dance! It is a joint venture of bloggers, namely me, Hermine, Dilly Blog, Disco Naïveté & Kasper-Jan.
I shall be dj’ing together with Hermine under the name Germs (Ger + Herms) and I’m basically very afraid yet very excited.

(also by Hermine)
Another official explanation then:
“Dance Dance Dance, A Blog Party is a party (“no way!”) organised by bloggers from Dilly Blog, Neon Enlightenment, Disco Naïveté, I Eat Crab Food & Hermine who’ll be playing danceable tunes only.
It started out as a wild idea on Twitter by Michiel but soon enough everyone was super enthusiastic to really make this happen. We aim to spin tunes that will make your feet move and your indie heart happy. Just plain, straightforward good music. And that can range from Robyn over Sleigh Bells to The Beatles.
Get in!”
Obviously you are all invited to come dance the night away! (and watch me make a fool of myself behind a dj-booth)
